CEREC one-visit crowns give you functional and natural-looking results in just one visit

If you have a cracked, damaged, or discolored tooth, we can use the CEREC machine to custom-make a crown to disguise the problem. A crown will repair injuries and protect the underlying tooth.

For CEREC crowns, Dr. Brandau will take digital pictures of your tooth and mouth, then transfer them into the CEREC programming framework. Utilizing a CAD/CAM innovation, a picture of your tooth is made to fit the correct measurements of your existing tooth. The goal is to make the crown look and feel as natural as possible. This includes matching the functions of your mouth and the color of the surrounding teeth.

The guidelines are then sent to our CEREC processing machine, which will "mill" or make the crown. The CEREC programming is so precise, there is usually no reason to make any alterations once the crown is placed in your mouth.

The biggest difference between CEREC crowns and conventional crowns is the time requirement. CEREC crowns only take one day. This means that there is no need for you to have a temporary crown in place while your permanent crown is being made. The CEREC machine also allows Dr. Brandau to create a custom tooth in the office, making sure it will match the tooth he is covering to the surrounding teeth. The impressions for conventional crowns are sent to a laboratory for construction. This means conventional crowns take several visits to complete.

Am I a Candidate for CEREC Crowns?

Most patients who require a crown can benefit from the CEREC one-day technology. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Brandau so he can examine your teeth and mouth to determine the best solution for you.
